The Peotone CUSD 207U Board of Education is now seeking candidates to fill a vacancy within the Board. The appointment for this vacancy will be effective through the next Board of Education election scheduled for the first Tuesday in April of 2027. Interested candidates must meet the following criteria:
Be a United States citizen
Be a resident of Illinois and the Peotone School District for at least one year
immediately preceding the appointment.
Be at least 18 years of age
Be a registered voter
Not hold another incompatible public office
No record of criminal sexual misconduct for which registration is required.
Applicants should show familiarity with the Board’s policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a Board and a Board member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics, and gift ban. Board policies are posted at www.peotoneschools.org
